From the Restaurant Site...

At HOTLIPS we’re fortunate to work in the place where agriculture, community and place converge. Like bees, the flow of farmers, customers and friends creates incredible opportunity and community. One discussion about green power can lead to action on better transportation, waste reduction, composting or pollinators. Sustainability is about community, everything is tied together, solutions come from collaboration and we are grateful for everyone’s contribution.

Founded in 1984, HOTLIPS is a Portland family-owned business with four pizza restaurants. We are passionate about great food, the power of community and the bounty of our regions harvest. We believe we are some of the luckiest people on earth to live here in the Pacific Northwest.

...We make every effort to buy our food from local farmers and food purveyors. Most of the farms are either certified organic or Food Alliance members. The parade of growers that come through our Commissary every week is incredible. We are so lucky to have access to their beautiful food. They are some of the most dedicated, hard-working people we will ever meet.

Our mission is to preserve culture and celebrate humanity through our rich culinary traditions and by joining with others in finding new ways, sustainable ways of doing business. We aim to make each day more joyous and delicious!

We currently have 120 people helping us run 4 restaurants, a commissary kitchen, a soda brewing operation, a bunch of farmers markets and festivals, plus all the business thinking and doing that it takes to keep it all afloat. Plus all the Sustainability learning and preaching that we feel is part of our mission. We love what we do.
