From the Restaurant Site...
navarre is a restaurant in portland oregon that serves 50+ wines by the glass and “half-glass.”
we have small and large plates, serving food based in italian, french and spanish origin.
we work with a csa (47th avenue farms) and the specials are based on what is delivered that week along with the whims and interests of the staff. Highlights have included : any items made with local mushrooms (morels, lobster mushrooms, matsutakes, etc.) simple but sublime treatment of vegetables, such as charred garlic whips and greens surprisingly substantial servings of proteins; the “bird” (moist and tender chicken on the bone seasoned with smoky paparika seasoned chicken), is always delicious, as are parchment-wrapped trout and halibut gravlax.
