Surprisingly good food, lovely art deco decor, saucy & smart service and some surprising twists & turns on the menu. This is a big city cafe in the historic center of an old small town. Two hours out of Seattle on I-90, it a great place to stop for a bite. While you're in town, don't miss Gallery One Visual Arts Center. Ellensburg has some nice surprises...

The Valley Cafe has been one of Ellensburg's finest restaurants since the 1930s. In 1938, the original owners Gust and Jessamine Carras hired the architectural firm of Matthew and Kaiser to remodel and design a restaurant with the best of Art Deco design. The mahogany backbar and booths still glow with warmth and style seventy years later. Greg Beach took over the cafe in the late 1970s, and for over thirty years the Valley Cafe has been an oasis of quality cuisine for travelers and locals alike.

Enjoy great food in our restaurant with original Art Deco interior, or stop by the takeout and wine shop for an espresso, and check out our award winning list of Washington State wines. Vegan and vegetarian entrees and soups are on the menu daily.
